Meteorology Basis: On Saturday we will treat the meteo at the level of Theoretical Coastal Navigation. Topics covered in this course are: Where can I find weather information, reading the weather map, what does such a map say about the wind force and wind direction, the meaning of isobars, fronts and clouds. Pressure systems, draft direction and the phenomena associated with it. In short, you learn to interpret the weather and you quickly gain insight into the weather forecast based on self-drawn maps.
Meteorology for Advanced: This course is a follow-up to basic metorology. Preferably with practical experience of, for example, sea sailing trips. We deal with extra knowledge for advanced users and conclude with cases in which the sailor will interpret the weather and possibly adjust the route. The basic knowledge as mentioned in for example "The weather of Tomorrow" must be ready.
